Today we displayed our second design assignment, although i thought our short film was good, i was massively impressed by other groups, one of them was so thought provoking bringing up issues to do with ethics i was surprised by the idea and thought that went into it.

another group did a viewing of a clip called a perfect world, that was also a well done clip, is our world perfect, what is perfection?

another group did a clip that had a similar idea to our own, not really surprising as their table is next to ours, 

all in all i believe the videos were very good and most were well thought out (Not saying some were bad, just could have been a bit more ironed out)

we managed to talk and write up the storyboard for the second design project on Friday  and after being bribed with coffee and a muffin i decided to do my part in a creepy story teller voice for the computers…i think i should have held out for more

I had my first meeting about the second design project on Friday, it was really good, we were talking about the current events, and what would the world be like if the world went to war, what would the reparations be, would we cause a nuclear winter, would we even survive such a catastrophe!

Today we covered the design process again, but delving more deeply into its process The lecturer talked about the necessity if prototyping He touches several times on games design, and it’s multiple aspects concerning design

Week 6 presentations second group critique

Flow between - life and chaos

A decent presentation that starts from the very beginning, their brainstorm

Their presentation although interesting could have used work, it seems at times that they are improvising

Their idea of organised chaos is an original one but they could have been more concise about their design and their flow of thought

Week six presentations - first group critique

The first group had an interesting style, they had decided to wait until the very end if their presentation to reveal their design

They have utilised wood to make many different ways to represent flow

Their primary reorientation of flow, was about the five senses.

however due to the build up, when their product was ‘unveiled’ it was a let down, they gave a good presentaton, but they should have shown their design first, then explained it

week 6 

the second design project, hopefully this year one will be a lot better than last years, i was out voted by the group, as they wanted to do a machinima, I know right!.

listening to this lecture and talking about the aspect of possible futures, my mind jumps to Steam punk culture
